Winner

The first-place winner of this competition is a project on a citywide scale, consisting of three main parts: urban wall reconstruction, the organization of central streets and roads, and the design of the city's connection to the old fabric of Kish. This organization is carried out under the local booth program and the organization of entrances to the fabric, creating an alternative strategy for urban walls. This is achieved through double-skin walling and the creation of an intermediate space between the fabric and the street.

The primary pattern used in this project is inspired by the mosaic patterns of Kish mosques, which have been scaled up to 5-meter by 5-meter modules at the city level. These modules have also undergone some rotations based on the city's orientation. Each module can simultaneously provide two parking spaces in the urban space, as well as a pedestrian passage. Half of it can be considered as a bicycle path or create a filter for transforming streets into pedestrian walkways. This pattern, on the other hand, enhances the flexibility of our modules, allowing for multiple breaks and extensions in urban design.

Furthermore, shade modules, functional elements, and resting spaces have been developed based on the same concept. These modules are designed with inspiration from traditional Kish boat and boat-making art, aiming to convey a stronger sense of unity and local identity to the residents. On the other hand, the simplicity of execution allows the local people to take part in the project from the beginning, contributing to the development and prosperity of local businesses.
